Who we are

The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. We are a charity registered in Scotland SC003558.  Our registered office is Mansfield Traquair Centre, 15 Mansfield Place, Edinburgh, EH3 6BB.

This privacy notice tells you what data we collect and what we use it for.

What information do we collect?

When you apply to become an SCVO member we collect: details about your organisation, and the name, address, phone and email details of the person you nominate to be your SCVO Member Contact.

How we use the information?

We will use the SCVO Member Contact details to communicate with you about your application for membership – to tell you if and when your application is approved, and to communicate with you about annual renewal if you are a paying member. If you are an  SCVO member organisation, we will also use your details to send you details of our AGM.

We automatically register SCVO Member Contacts to receive our fortnightly SCVO Member Bulletin – you can unsubscribe from this at any time by contacting us on 0800 169 0022  or by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the bulletin.

Supporter SCVO member organisations will also be automatically registered to receive a monthly copy of Third Force News magazine as part of your member benefits package.

For as long as you are subscribed to the SCVO Member Bulletin, we may also send you occasional ‘special’ Member Bulletins – regarding SCVO news, campaigns, products and services.

We will not share your information with any third parties unless we have asked for your consent to do so.

If your application to join SCVO is unsuccessful or we cannot process your application for some reason, your data will be retained for six months then deleted.

When organisations cease to be members of SCVO, data is retained for six years and then deleted.

Your rights over your information

By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate.

You can also ask us to give you a copy of the information and to stop using your information.
