Becoming a Digital Leader programme

‘Digital transformation can happen at any level, by anyone in any organisation; they key is to just start….’ easy for Tom Loosemore Co-author of Digital Transformation At Scale to say…. BUT

  • What if your senior team are slow to buy in?
  • What if you can’t get your ideas heard?
  • What if you don’t have time, head space and confidence?
  • And where and how exactly does person go about ‘just starting’?

At SCVO we believe that as a development worker you are well placed to influence and affect change within your organisation. You have direct contact with the people that matter most and have invaluable information that can improve a person’s experience of using the service your organisation provides.

Our new Digital Development worker Programme is designed to help support you to find and use digital tools, methods and ways of working to:

  • Improve service delivery, creating the best service you can for the people that you serve
  • Create space and time, increasing your productivity, and problem-solving capacity
  • Increase your confidence to seize opportunities and demonstrate the impact of your work
  • influence change in the wider organisation
  • learn and share best practice and key concepts

By sharing tools, insights, and resources from a range of different digital fields and experts the programme will illustrate how you can adopt new and emerging digital methodologies, tools and techniques.

The programme is designed to unleash the potential of every team member through real-life advice, inspiring stories, and thoughtful perspectives from experts around the world.

Delivered over five, two and half -hour sessions:

Session 1 – Digital change- exploring the fundamentals of disruption and bringing about digital change

Session 2 – Agile- understanding the basic tools of agile project management – Iteration, collaboration and using data deliberately and intentionally.

Session 3 – Scottish approach to service design #SAtSD – understanding the impact of designing the right thing, through understanding the problem and co-creation.

Session 4 – Creating a Do-ocracy- own it, don’t moan it… taking personal responsibility, productivity creating space and increasing capacity, reducing workload.

Session 5 – your next steps.

Increasing your impact and have real influence as a remote and hybrid worker, using digital to quietly disrupting organisational norms and bring about increased efficiency and greater flexibility in the workplace, providing the best service we can to the people we serve.
