Loretto Care is a leading provider of care and support services for a wide range of people in Scotland.
No matter what a person’s care needs are, we put them at the centre of what we do. We work with them to design their very own personalised care package and then support them to achieve their goals.
Our flexible and innovative services can be designed to help people who just need some extra support at home as they grow older or recover from a hospital stay. Or we can offer more intensive support for those with more complex needs.
We are part of Wheatley Group, a signatory to the Digital Charter.
We currently work with a number of Health and Social Care Partnership Commissioners throughout Scotland.
- From 16th October 2017 to 15th October 2018
- Award: £4,175 via Call 5
With Charter Fund support we will open a new “come and try” service in Coatbridge, incorporating a demonstration of readily available digital technology which helps people live happy, independent, safe lives in their own homes
Members of the Loretto Care team are/will be trained as demonstrators of this technology, forming part of a team of volunteers (Digital Champions). People will be able to book training, delivered by a trained demonstrator, showing and advising them as they try the technology and build their skills in its application and use.
Training sessions will be personalised, short (up to 2 hours, often less), focused and specific to individual needs and wants – e.g. people can use their own equipment (e.g. ipads). Return visits will be encouraged
This approach has been developed from experience gained through a similar project in the South side of Glasgow (The 415 project), which has delivered training to around 1500 individuals. 98.5% of participants rated the experience excellent or very good.
Coatbridge Innovation Project launched (equipped, tested, staff and volunteers in place, PR delivered, first sessions delivered to participants)
Monthly – approximately 100 participants per month participating in demonstration/training session
Completion of Board level evaluation report and recommend actions to facilitate continuation beyond 15 October 2018
Unfortunately our project has not yet been able to start due to a number of mitigating factors. We are currently looking at other options to base our project. Following our last monitoring update and emails with the funder we identified we could have a 6 month extension to help further plan our project. This is on-going.
Our project has unfortunately been delayed through unexpected circumstances with the accommodation being made available. We have been in touch with the funders to request an extension and this has been agreed for around 6 months. We are sourcing alternative accommodation for our project as the issues with the original accommodation are still not resolved, we hope to be able to get the project up and running in the next 2 months.
