Hours: 25 hrs per week.
The Centre will be open 7 days per week, and hours will arranged around need over 5 days No overtime will be paid, but time of in lieu will be given, by arrangement with the Line Manager.
The Millennium Centre is building a team that will deliver excellent Customer Service, and it is important that all staff are able to engage on all levels when required.
The aim is to give the opportunity to experience a wide variety of tasks, and help to identify what is suitable for the person on a more permanent basis. The Millennium Centre recognises that some young people do not always get the chance to experience different employment opportunities, and through mentoring the individual, and working as a team, we can help that young person identify where their skills might lie.
Tasks will include;
Reception duties: answering phone, taking enquiries
Kitchen duties: food preparation, dish washing, cleaning, working with Chef
Café duties: taking orders, barista, clearing tables, cleaning
Youth Club duties: working with senior Youth worker
Facilities duties: setting up for events, working with staff and volunteers at events, both at the Centre and other venues, working with Janitorial team
The post holder will undertake any identified training necessary to enable him/her to work in a safe and legal manner, and to the best of their ability.
Line management will be carried out by a designated Staff member.
Reliability and good timekeeping required, A willing attitude, good personal hygiene ,and a pleasant manner are essential.
