Assisting the Lead Outdoor Instructor with the delivery of conservation and outdoor activity sessions, including: Team Building, Bushcraft, Wild Camping, Abseiling, Canoeing, Mountain Biking, Gorge Walking, Coasteering, Adventure Walks, Trail/Hill walking, Stand up Paddle Boarding, Canyoneering
General maintenance of equipment and store.
All training will be given but must have a genuine interest in outdoor activities and conservation issues.
Occasional weekend residentials are required.
Duties and responsibilities
To engage with young people in a one to one or group structure.
To deliver, directly or in partnership, a range of personal and social development opportunities and ensure young people are aware of them.
Representing and promoting the service through networks including training opportunities and residentials.
To attend relevant training/development opportunities.
Participate in staff/team reviews and meetings.
To keep appropriate records including completion of time sheets for hours worked, petty cash records and to monitor and evaluate your own work.
Ensure all working practices adhere to the Adventure Centre for Education policies e.g. Confidentiality Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy etc.
• Must have a people centre approach to work, including the ability to communicate to people of all ages.
• Be a good time keeper .
• Be able to work the occasional weekend and evenings.
This job is of a physical nature.
Successful applicant will be required to become a PVG Scheme member
