Job description

To support the Manager in maximising income and achieve sales targets through the selling of good-quality second hand clothing and accessories.

To ensure the shop premises are clean and tidy at all times and that goods are displayed in an attractive and presentable manner.

To act as key-holder, top open and close the Shop when the Shop Manager isn't available to do so.

To support the Manager in supporting volunteers and trainees liaising with them concerning presentation, targets, volunteer rotas etc

To generate stock donations to meet sales requirements; accept, sort, price and display stock in accordance with Home-Start Clackmannanshire's guidelines.

To help with stock control, including disposal of unsold donations at the best possible return.

To work with the Manager to publicise the Charity Shop, enhance the image of Home-Start Clackmannanshire, ensure that all queries about Home-Start's services are signposted to its main office and that information held at the shop is up to date.

To level a programme of themed window displays.

To assist with maximising Home-Start's fundraising and marketing opportunities.

To work closely with the Manager to ensure that any problems in the Shop are resolved quickly and effectively.

Any other duties which are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the post.

Person specification

Retail experience is essential. Friendly and approachable. Flexibility to do different tasks. Enthusiastic and eager to learn. Ability to follow procedures correctly, such as using a till. Good teamwork.
