Aims & objectivesWiston Lodge provides physical, mental and spiritual challenge in a safe and sheltered residential environment for all users, but especially young people who are vulnerable and at risk; enabling the development of respect for oneself, others and for the environment and encouraging lifestyles which are simple, nonviolent and free from destructive dependencies. At Wiston Lodge, we believe everyone should have experiences and support in order to develop social skills, a willingness to learn and a positive sense of themselves and of other people. We do this by using experiential learning, delivered through Outdoor Adventure Activities, Nature Connection or Creative Arts. This enables each person to develop the six core skills needed for a fulfilled life; these are teamwork, problem solving, communication, reliability, trainability and adaptability. Our facilitators are experienced in working with young people and adults at risk. Behaving with empathy and positive regard they act as role models. Safety, enjoyment and learning are our key priorities, and we have a practical and positive approach to the assessment and management of risk. Our Vision is a world where people have the opportunities and support they need to grow positive, sustainable futures. Our Purpose is to provide a unique rural setting where people can feel safe and be supported to develop the skills they need to fulfil their potential, free from the distractions of everyday life. Our mission is: A) to deliver tailored learning programmes to children and young people, vulnerable adults, and to the staff of the organisations that support them. B) to work with our surrounding community to support, sustain and build a brighter future for our local area. C) to offer our hospitality, recreational facilities and training to groups who support our charitable purpose.

Main Purpose of the job: to work alongside the wider Wiston Lodge team and to make sure all visiting groups get the best out of their experience.
The Hospitality Assistant would work with the Housekeepers, Cooks and the Hospitality Coordinator to service the needs of the visiting groups.
Tasks in the following areas: Hospitality, Customer Service, Kitchen and Housekeeping. Possible Office Work.
Role built around skills, interests and experience of candidate! Over time and in consultation with the Hospitality Assistant, we would build the role and responsibilities, ensuring that they were happy, stimulated and challenged in their role!
