As a member of the Cassiltoun Staff Team you will play a full role in the implementation and achievement of the Association’s strategic/operational objectives and vision of being a leader in providing excellent housing services; creating and sustaining vibrant communities.
As part of the Operations Team you will:-
Undertake duties on a day-to-day basis under the supervision of the Handyperson, but will be directly responsible to the Clerk of Works/Technical Officer.
Undertake training events as requested, both for his/her personal action plan and for ongoing personal development.
Liaise with the Handyperson and other departments within the Housing Association.
Ensure that the Stables building and area is kept free of litter and is clean and tidy
In winter ensure path to Stables building is cleared and gritted.
Minor maintenance of the Stables Building as directed by the Technical Officer
De-litter the Association’s common areas as requested by the Operations Team
Aid Handyperson to carry out minor repairs
Pre and post inspect repairs
Provide handy person services during Major Repairs Works and for vulnerable tenants
General lifting & maintenance duties in office
Inspections of bin areas/backcourts
Minor cleaning out of voids
Minor void works
General duties as instructed by Technical Officer or Handyperson from time to time
Comply with the relevant Health and Safety Legislation which impacts on employees duties and responsibilities;
Ensure that all Handyperson Assistant activities are discharged in a safe manner, minimizing risk at all times.
Be responsible for identifying own training requirements in relation to the role and proactively seek ways to improve own knowledge and skills;
To attend training and personal development courses as and when required by the Association;
Maximise the use of ICT facilities and new technology initiatives and contribute to their development where appropriate;
To ensure Value for Money in all tasks carried out on behalf of the Association.
To observe and promote Equal Opportunities, customer care and Equality & Diversity policies at all times;
Assist in the Association’s aim to reduce the negative impact of services on the environment by considering the sustainability of activities and resources employed;
To carry out any other duties which may be reasonably requested by the Association and undertake any other duties subsequently allocated by the Association’s management;
