Aims & objectives

CVS Falkirk & District is recognised by Scottish Government and Falkirk Council as the third sector interface for the Falkirk area. We have a primary role in ensuring the continuation and development of a vibrant third sector (charities, social enterprises, community and voluntary groups etc) in Falkirk. We have four key areas of work: 1) More people have increased opportunities to volunteer, and volunteer involving organisations are better able to recruit, manage and retain volunteers. 2) Social enterprise develops and grows. 3) Organisations are well governed and managed to enable them to deliver quality outcomes. 4) Organisations are better connected and able to influence and contribute to public policy.

Job description

1.To take minutes at third sector forum meetings and ensure they are communicated on our website in a timely manner.

2.To set up the meeting room for events and third sector Forums.

3.To take minutes at staff meetings and produce in a timely manner for review by chair of meeting.

4.To deal appropriately with telephone and personal enquiries, mail and email as necessary, relating to public relations and press matters with support from Partner Communications Officer.

5.To provide a range of administrative support to communications function of the organisation, including; creation of e-bulletin articles and proof reading.

6.To review website, including identifying articles that require amendment, arranging for removal of obsolete items, checking that links work including those to external websites.

7.To undertake administrative tasks in relation to events, in particular ensuring events calendar is up to date

8.To assist with communications reporting including; events calendar, partner communications recording, compile event evaluations.

9.To assist with expanding our reach to the third sector, identifying organisations not currently engaged with the organisation.

Person specification

Essential requirements:

- Good written and numeracy skills.

- Confident in the use of Microsoft Office packages and at least one social media platform

- Willingness to learn; work as part of a team and to help others.

- Good customer service skills

Desirable requirements:

- Knowledge of the third sector.

- Awareness of office health and safety and/or first aid in the workplace.
