Aims & objectives

Glasgow East Arts Company (GEAC) manages Platform the arts facility at the heart of The Bridge in Easterhouse. GEAC's aim is to provide high quality, accessible arts programming and cultural events to local residents. We aim to work with and support inspiring and engaging artists to develop work in direct conversation with those around us and have workd with noteable artists including Karla Black, Alex Frost and Katy Dove.

Job description

The Bridge is an award-winning arts, leisure and learning facility in Easterhouse that was constructed by Glasgow City Council in 2006. This multi–faceted venue operates through a partnership with Glasgow East Arts Company (GEAC), Glasgow Life (GL) and Glasgow Kelvin College (GKC).

Glasgow East Arts Company manages the arts centre, Platform, at The Bridge alongside the delivery of a wide ranging events programme throughout the local area.


1. Office Admin:

 to deal with incoming enquiries by phone, email and in person

 to attend to incoming and outgoing mail

 to check and manage all deliveries

 to assist with printing and mailing of letters and other correspondence

 to coordinate distribution lists

 to update and maintain filing systems both manual and electronic

 to photocopy and laminate documents

2. PA Role:

 to take incoming calls, dealing with them appropriately in the absence of other members of the team

 to deal appropriately with emails on behalf of other members of the team in their absence

 to set up meetings by phone and through Microsoft Outlook’s online calendar

 to take notes at meetings where relevant

3. Customer Care:

 to deliver high quality customer care

 to participate in customer care training

 to be professional all times

4. Health and Safety:

to be conversant with and operate at all times within the current Health and Safety at Work legislation

 to undertake relevant Health and Safety training

Person specification


 a professional attitude

 excellent communication skills

 ability to work under instruction

 a self-motivated and ‘can do’ approach

 working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint

 confident telephone skills

 a willingness and desire to learn and undergo training

 ability to work flexibly on evenings, weekends and outdoors on occasion

 flexibility to work evening and weekends

 an interest in the arts and/or events
