Help to promote self-regulation of fundraising in Scotland

The Independent Fundraising Standards & Adjudication Panel for Scotland was formally established in December 2016, to promote good fundraising standards and adjudicate on fundraising complaints throughout Scottish registered charities. You can hear more about the Panel’s role in this interview. I was appointed in January to carry out the secretariat role and since then, we’ve been working to get the Panel up-and-running to fulfil its purposes. We’re looking for suggestions on a more suitable name for the Panel, something shorter and catchier that will generate a better connection between the Panel, Scottish charities and members of the public. At our most recent quarterly meeting we also discussed a logo for the Panel that could also be used by Scottish charities on their website and documents to show they are committed to good fundraising and signed up to the Fundraising Guarantee. This logo would be used in place of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) ‘tick’ logo in a similar way to the new logo by the Fundraising Regulator for England and Wales. We’d considered thumbs-up, smiley faces and collection jars but none of them felt right! That’s where you come in. We want the sector to have a say (after all, this is about enhanced self-regulation as chosen during the consultation process) so we’re looking for any ideas or suggestions you have for this logo – what would you like to display that represents good fundraising? We would love to hear your ideas so please get in touch at fundraisingsecretariat@outlook.com by no later than Sunday 28 May 2017.
