Digital Leaders 100 Awards - vote for One Digital!

Every year ‘Digital Leaders’ recognise the work of organisations and inspirational individuals working to make the most of the digital world. Last year Gillian Docherty- CEO for Scotland’s Data Lab was the overall winner.

The fantastic work taking place across Scotland is well represented in this year’s shortlist, with Cat Macauley, Margaret Whoriskey, Scottish Book Trust and CivTech all in the running.

This year I’m particularly proud of One Digital – nominated in the Best digital skills or inclusion initiative category. If you have worked with One Digital please take a moment and vote for us.

One Digital is a collaboration of five organisations - Age UK, Clarion Futures, Citizens Online, Digital Unite and SCVO. We are all focused on how we can make sure digital opportunities are available to everyone, and don’t become another indicator of social exclusion.

One of the great strengths of our partnership is that each organisation has expertise working with a particular community, and we don’t try to deliver digital skills support in exactly the same ways.

Underpinning all of our work is the ‘digital champion model’ – a way of providing ongoing digital skills support delivered by peers and trusted individuals.

Collectively One Digital has engaged with over 2,700 organisations, recruited over 3,600 Digital Champions and supported over 36,900 people to learn new digital skills, and these numbers continue to grow.  We are aiming to reach over 49,000 learners by the end of the programme.

While these numbers are impressive, in my view the greatest benefit of working in partnership is the learning and support we give one another. SCVO has benefitted hugely from insight and expertise gathered through the One Digital community of practice. This has influenced the ways that we work, and we cascade this knowledge across our work in Scotland.

Find out more about the collaboration here.

If you have worked with SCVO or any of the wider One Digital partners please vote for us here.
