As the Social Security (Scotland) Bill progressed through Parliament third sector organisations, individually and in coalitions, effectively lobbied to achieve a number of key improvements.
Towards the beginning of this process SCVO hosted an event at which colleagues shared some of their priority issues.
As we progress through the regulation phase there will be many more opportunities to highlight to the Scottish Government and MSPs what can be done to ensure the Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018 improves the lives of people and communities in Scotland.
SCVO are therefore keen to build on the sector successes by hosting another meeting where colleagues can discuss the regulation phase focusing on opportunities for collaborative working.
This meeting will take place at 10am on Thursday the 9th of August in central Edinburgh. At this meeting there will be an opportunity to share:
• Information about key upcoming, dates and deadlines and other intelligence
• Key priorities and how organisations within the sector can work together to achieve these.
• Concerns and how these could be addressed.
Following this there will be a reflective session, Chaired by Anna Fowlie, where colleagues will be invited to reflect on the Bill process and how the sector could work together more effectively on similar legislation in the future.
A networking lunch will follow at 12.30.
- Entry requirements
This session is open to policy and public affairs professionals who engaged with the Social Security (Scotland) Bill on behalf of a third sector organisation only.
Note: Only a few places left!
