Abstract

The third report of the Panel on the Independence of the Voluntary Sector.
This was part of a five year initiative (2011-2016) established by the Foundation to bring together a group of authoritative sector figures to make a regular public statement on the state of voluntary sector independence in order to stimulate reflection, debate and action.

Areas covered in the report include:
Lack of consultation over vital funding and policy issues
Loss of identity and respect for independence
Statutory Funding and contracting arrangements
Ineffective safeguards and regulation
Greater protection for independent governance
