Why CLD Standards matter for the third sector
Hosted by CLD Standards Council Scotland
Date: Thursday 21 February
Time: 9.30am – 10.30am
Room: Alsh Suite 1
The event will enable participants to develop their practice, and the practice of their organisations, through increased awareness and understanding of the CLD competence framework and how to use it.
Members of the CLD Standards Council who work in the 3rd sector will share their experience as CLD professionals and Dr. Marion Allison, the Head of the Standards Council, will present the framework and its role in setting and raising standards.
Participants will then have the opportunity to take part in facilitated discussion to explore issues including:
- Why are practice standards, and the CLD competence framework in particular, important for the 3rd sector?
- What practice standards do we currently use – CLD, other? Are there synergies and/or conflicts?
- How are CLD Values, Ethics and Competences used to develop and improve practice in the 3rd sector? Could they be used more/more effectively?
Following from this, participants will be invited to consider the action needed, on the part of both 3rd sector organisations and the CLD Standards Council, to grow and support the use of CLD standards in the 3rd sector.
