Leonard Cheshire in Scotland
Leonard Cheshire is one of Scotland’s leading disability charities and socialcare providers. Through all of our work we seek to empower individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability.
With 800 staff across the country, we provide social care to over 400 people with disabilities and/or additional support needs. Across our 44 Scottish social care services, we provide personal care which empowers individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives at the heart of their communities.
We offer a range of different programmes that provide a range of exciting opportunities to allow people to prosper. Our CanDo programme allows 16-35 year olds with additional support needs to volunteer in their community to make a difference and receive certificates in recognition of their achievements. Additionally, our innovative Change 100 programme brings together the UK’s top employers – such as Barclays, BBC and Standard Life – and talented students and graduates with disabilities to offer three months of paid work experience.
Leonard Cheshire encourages people to learn and develop new skills and build self-confidence. We raise awareness on issues that are important and our programmes aim to broaden the public’s understanding of disability.
