Counting Scotland: the census, the population and the future
Hosted by National Records of Scotland
Date: Wednesday 19 February
Time: 2.00pm to 3.00pm
Room: Boisdale Suite 2
National Records of Scotland collects, analyses and publishes a wide range of information about Scotland’s people and how we live. This includes population estimates and projections, life expectancy, migration, households and vital events (births, deaths and marriages). We are also responsible for undertaking Scotland’s Census and the next one is due to take place in March 2021.
Our presentation to The Gathering will highlight how Scotland’s population is changing; how we think it will change further and the implications this has for the third sector and others. We will be highlighting the various statistical information we publish, free of charge, which is available to the third sector.
We will also offer information about our plans for the 2021 Census. The session will highlight and explore the ways that we think we can work with organisations across the third sector as we plan for the next census.
