CLD Standards Council
The CLD Standards Council Scotland is the professional body for people who work or volunteer in Scotland in community learning and development, which includes practitioners in youth work, community development and adult learning.
We are a member-led organisation. Our approach and the work plans to deliver our core responsibilities are defined by our member committees and based on feedback from our growing membership of over 2,200, which includes practitioners in the public and third sectors in a wide variety of settings from across Scotland.
We are funded by the Scottish Government, and have a staff team of 6.
Our core responsibilities are to:
- Deliver a professional approvals structure for qualifications, courses and development opportunities for everyone involved in CLD
- Maintain a registration system available to practitioners delivering and active in CLD practice
- Develop and establish a model of supported induction, CPD and training opportunities
Underpinning all of these are the values, code of ethics and competence framework that set standards for practice and define CLD as a profession.
