Good Governance Award
The Good Governance Award is the quality standard for Scottish charities, championing good governance throughout the industry.
Governance in the Scottish charity sector is a key concern for us all. With increasing competition for donations, grants and social investment, funders are looking for evidence of good governance. This is placing charities under increasing pressure, both regulatory and financial.
Developed with support from OSCR and SCVO, the Good Governance Award has been designed to reflect current best practice in charity governance. It provides organisations with a clearly structured, robust and independent assessment. It is an evidence based assessment that requires the completion of an e-portfolio.
Once completed, accreditation proves that an organisation is actively engaging in excellent governance, thus giving increased confidence to external stakeholders.
The Introduction to Good Governance Programme is a smaller award, developed to support small charities strengthen their core governance, and is a great precursor to the full Good Governance Award.
