The Scottish Commission for Learning Disability (SCLD) is the lead strategic partner to the Scottish Government in the delivery of learning disability strategy and policy. We are an intermediary organisation for the learning disability sector in Scotland, and we are committed to finding new and better ways to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.SCLD is a national resource to support the development of excellence in training, research, information, policy and practice. SCLD’s main areas of work are: Offering consultancy and support to implement' The same as you?' and bringing together, developing and passing on information and advice. Building respect in the Scottish community by enabling people with learning disabilities and family carers to take up roles as trainers, research champions and advisers.The Consortium is made up of 12 Partner Organisations who have joined together with funding from the Scottish Executive to become the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disability. It is a charity and an independent company.
