Digital inclusion sessions

Digital inclusion is about making sure that people have the opportunity to be online and have the skills to use digital tools.   

Organisations have a responsibility to support their staff to do their jobs, and to support their services users to fully access their online services. Our free digital inclusion sessions will help your organisation build capacity and capability for digital inclusion work.  

We will work closely with you to understand the unique needs of your organisation. We will tailor our bespoke support specifically to help you approach digital inclusion sustainably.  

If you are a complete beginner 

• perhaps you are beginning to realise that your service users cannot all fully access your online services 
• perhaps you know your staff sometimes struggle to use your systems or digital tools in their job 
• we will tailor our support to help you understand what digital inclusion is 
• We will guide you through best practices on how to do digital inclusion 

If you are already delivering digital inclusion support  

• you understand digital inclusion and know how to do it 
• we will tailor our support to help you make your digital inclusion more sustainable in the long term 
• we will help you develop more co-production work with partner organisations to avoid duplication of effort 
• we will provide guidance to ensure that everyone is making the right contributions in the right places 

Who are the sessions for?

These free sessions are suitable for all organisations. 

We encourage you to invite as many staff as possible to each session, as this is the best way to ensure your digital inclusion work becomes embedded across your service and is therefore sustainable. 

What happens in the sessions?

Our Digital Inclusion Sessions are a mix of short masterclasses for you to learn fast, and longer interactive workshop with practical outputs.  We will share best practice, and you will go away with ideas that you can put in place immediately. 

Depending on what stage you are at in your current digital inclusion delivery, session topics will include themes such as 

1. Introduction to digital inclusion (learning why digital inclusion matters) 
2. Understanding digital inclusion (making the case for digital inclusion at all levels of the organisation) 
3. Doing digital inclusion (what works in developing and delivering your approach to digital inclusion)  
4. Digital Champions (how to recruit, train, support and retain Digital Champions) 
5. Workforce digital skills (undertaking a workforce digital skills audit, and taking action to address gaps) 
6. Internal resource mapping (understanding what resources you have internally) 
7. Partnership working (understanding what resources you have in your local community, and working in partnerships with other organisations)
