Health and social care standards voluntary pledge
Hosted by Health and Social Care Standards
Date: Wednesday 20 February
Time: 3.45pm – 4.45pm
Room: Alsh Suite 2
The Health and Social Care Standards (the Standards) were published in June 2017 and came into effect from 1 April 2018. The Standards set out what everyone should expect when experiencing health, social care or social work services in Scotland. They seek to provide better outcomes for everyone; to ensure that individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and that the basic human rights we are all entitled to are upheld.
The Standards are applicable not just to services regulated and scrutinised by the Care Inspectorate and Healthcare Improvement Scotland, but also to non-registered services to help improve people’s experiences of the service.
Would organisations providing non-registered services such as advice, support, befriending, advocacy or training welcome being able to sign a public pledge to uphold the principles of the Standards? As well as providing an opportunity to hear about work so far, this workshop is an open forum for attendees to discuss the pledge and input into its development.
