Land Reform – community ownership and beyond
This event will provide an overview of the Scottish Government’s land reform agenda, setting out how everyone in Scotland can have greater influence over how land is used and managed, and how we can all benefit from Scotland’s land. It will highlight our continuing support for community ownership, particularly through the various community rights-to-buy and the Scottish Land Fund. Setting land reform in the context of the Scottish Land Rights and Responsibilities Statement – the first of its kind anywhere in the world – the event will consider what this means for our relationship with Scotland’s land. The event will discuss our wider land reform ambitions, including how we can increase the diversity of land ownership, how we can make it easier for communities to own land, how we can bring more vacant and derelict land into productive use and how we will improve transparency around who owns land.
