The Moira Anderson Foundation
The Moira Anderson Foundation (MAF) provides support and therapeutic interventions for people who have been affected by childhood sexual abuse (CSA).
We provide support for people who have experienced abuse and also family members who have been affected. We support all ages and genders.
Based in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, most of our services are delivered from our premises here, although we see people from all over. Some services are provided on an outreach basis with specific services being delivered in partnership with other organisations, for their clients who have been affected by CSA.
Services available include:
Ongoing Support, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Person Centered Counselling, Youth Counselling, Psychodynamic Counselling CBT, Thought Field Therapy and Complementary Therapies.
For groups we run a weekly Pop-In for clients who have gone through support and therapy. This provides a safe place, facilitating peer support in a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment.
We deliver a 12 week Self-Management programme, Hands on Health teaching people tools and techniques they can use in everyday life to manage and improve their own health and wellbeing.
A weekly peer support group runs, offering therapeutic and health promoting activities, providing ongoing support for those who need it.
